This year welcoming Golden West Asics 18's from California

All teams must check in Friday night at the Convention Center lower level from 7pm - 9pm.  Any team commuting on Saturday must check in at the Convention Center prior to play.

We are happy to announce that the MLK Kickoff classic is growing and improving again this year!

This year’s event will be held Jan 14th, 15th and 16th 2012 in Lancaster, PA.  We have several new venues including the new Lancaster County Convention Center which will host the Gold Finals on Monday for all ages.  We are expanding to 400+ teams, dividing the age brackets and offering Open and Club divisions for ages 14 – 18.  The 13’s will remain a two-day-only event.  We will have a stage presentation Awards Ceremony on Monday at the Convention Center.

This year at The Convention Center, we  will be sponsoring a Volleyball Expo with major vendors from across the country.  Friday night  at 7pm we will be offering the USAV National Clinic for all national level officials (check the USAV website to sign up). The clinic will take place at the Lancaster City Council Office across the street from the Lower level of the Convention Center

There will be a coaches impact clinic held on Friday night. This will be held at 7pm at the Lancaster CVB office at 501 Greenfield Road Lancaster Pa 17601. This year's Class will be delivered by Dick Sware to sign up please contact Brian Smith from the KRVA.org website

Other Changes For This Year (2012):

  • Entry this year will take place right here on the www.str8dnsports.com website using our new Registration Center.
  • We will only be accepting checks sent directly to the Tournament Director, and they will not be cashed until after December 15th 2011.
  • 14 and under division will be increased to both Club and Open divisions and will also be a 3 day event.  Only the 13’s division will remain at 2 days.
  • Entry fee will be $550 for age groups 14 - 18, and $380 for the 13’s age group.
  • Volleyball showcase will be held at the Convention Center.
  • This years event will be a “ Stay to Play “ event.  Please book all of your rooms through the CVB website.  You will be given special reservation codes with the bookings and you will not be accepted into the event without them. Teams planning to commute that will not be staying in hotels must still complete the Hotel Registration form, and must mark "Commuting" in order to be accepted. There is a 96 hour cancellation policy in effect with no exemption so please book wisely. This event will require those staying in Lancaster to use the CVB hotel system to better track the hotels.  DO NOT USE any outside hotel reservation service to reserve rooms.  They will not be recognized by the event and your teams will not be accepted into the tournament.   • All teams will be must check in Friday night at the Convention Center lower level.  Any team commuting and arriving on Saturday must check in at the Convention Center prior to play.
  • Pool Play will be posted on Friday Morning January 13th for teams wanting to print out schedules before arrival.
